Celebrate our multicultural community at Mediterranean Fiesta this February
Wish you were soaking up the European vibe this summer?
Don’t worry, we do too. That’s why we’re bringing back Mediterranean Fiesta in 2026!
‘Med Fest’ kicks off Moonee Valley’s summer festival season by bringing a celebration of our rich multicultural history to Centreway in Keilor East on Sunday, 15 February.
Moonee Valley is home to people from more than 120 different cultural backgrounds, which is reflected in the languages we speak, the traditions we keep, and the bonds we build with one another.
Performance highlights include:
- Opera singer Piera Dennerstein
- DJ Moto Bella Vespa
- School of Tarantella
- Vocal Arts Studio
‘Med Fest’ is fun for the whole family, with kids’ activities in the park, and food and drinks available for purchase from local Centreway businesses. Mayor of Moonee Valley, Dr Rose Iser, paid tribute to the generations of Mediterranean communities who helped shape and enrich our city.
“Our Mediterranean Fiesta is a homage to the families who chose to call Moonee Valley home and who have contributed so much to the character of our neighbourhoods,” Dr Iser said.
“From the local businesses that double as community hubs to the traditions, food, music and values that continue to bring us together.”
“When we celebrate our diversity as a community, we also create opportunities for everyone to thrive.
“With local traders joining in the fun with their own activations, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
Council is committed to supporting community groups through arts and culture activities and events as well as providing accessible experiences to the local community across the municipality.
‘Med Fest’ one of three major community events planned for 2026:
- Mediterranean Fiesta – Sunday, 15 February | 11am – 2pm
- Twilight Concert – Saturday 28 February | 5pm – 9:30pm
- Moonee Valley Festival – Sunday 15 March | 10am – 5pm
