What you need to know
Woodlands Park and Salmon Reserve
Woodlands Park is a popular destination and much-loved heritage park for locals and visitors. It also has plenty of open space perfect for kicking the footy, barbeque facilities and a playground for children.
Moonee Valley is a densely populated and established municipality with limited open space opportunities, particularly to implement large scale Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) projects.
With increased development and growth in this area, the role of green healthy public open spaces is incredibly important for local residents. Particularly to provide an open space that provides a diverse range of play experiences, accessible pathways and excellent picnic facilities.
Council’s commitment to enhance this heritage park has now been fully realised with the completion of two separate stages of construction works from the initial pond upgrades from May 2019 – November 2019 and the latter landscape upgrade works from February 2020 - August 2020.
