Reporting
Council undertakes a range of reporting across different areas of operations. This ensures our transparency for delivering on our commitments and accountability to good management and governance.
Annual Reports
The Local Government Act 2020 requires all Victorian councils to prepare an Annual Report each financial year and present it to a Council meeting before the end of October.

Annual Reports
An Annual Report is prepared each year in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 2020.
The report outlines:
- what we’ve achieved and where we’ve faced challenges
- the strategies and actions we’ve taken to meet our objectives
- how we’re performing financially
- our progress against key measures set by the state government.
We prepare this report in line with the Local Government Act 2020, and the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF).

Our Performance - Know Your Council
The Victorian Government established the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF) in 2014 to ensure that all councils measure and report on their performance in a consistent way. The Framework was also set up to provide transparency, as the results of every council are reported publicly. Visit Know Your Council to view Council’s results against the service, financial and governance indicators.
Community Satisfaction Survey
The Community Satisfaction Survey is a statewide annual survey that collects direct feedback from the community about the councils that they live in. The information is used to guide service improvements. Results are used to monitor progress against the Council Plan objectives, understand community needs and perceptions, benchmark performance against other councils and inform Council’s planning, service delivery and community engagement initiatives. Topics covered include community satisfaction with:
- a range of key council services such as libraries, roads and recreational facilities
- council's overall performance
- community consultation and engagement
- customer service
- overall council direction.
All councils participate in the survey and ask a set of core questions to allow statewide comparisons. A minimum of 400 local residents and ratepayers in each municipality over 18 years of age are selected at random.
Moonee Valley City Council results can be found below.
