Community planting day – Sunday, 28 July

Join us for our biggest planting event of the year in celebration of National Tree Day!

The Maribyrnong River is Moonee Valley’s key wildlife corridor. By planting native seedlings along the embankments, residents can help keep our river and the wildlife habitat healthy and thriving.

There will be lots of seedlings to plant, fun for the kids, chill out spaces, nature connection activities and extra seedlings to take home.

There will also be free hot drinks and a BBQ provided for all planting participants.

The event is run in partnership with local community groups including Rotary, Moonee Valley Sustainability and the Maribyrnong River and Waterways Association.

Gloves, planting tools and instructions provided. Kneelers for creaky knees will also be available.

The event is free and everyone is welcome!

When: Sunday, 28 July, 10am-1pm

Where: Fairbairn Park, Woods Street, Ascot Vale

Check out our Facebook event. Please note, registration is not required.
