Love the outdoors? Become a Nature Steward!

Have a passion for nature? Eager to explore the natural gems in and around Moonee Valley? Join our Nature Stewards Program!
Join our neighbours at Merri-bek City Council as we venture into the natural wonders of our local environment. This Autumn we are inviting community members to join an in-depth guided tour of the local environment. Discover the volcanoes under our suburbs and understand how waterways and trees help us prepare for climate change. Immerse yourself in the curious landscape we’re so luck to have in our very own backyard.
The Nature Stewards program runs between April and June. Over 10 weeks Nature Stewards will attend information sessions, given from western and local Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung perspectives including four field trips and topics including:
- Plants, animals, rocks and fungi
- Climate change and seasons
- Ways to care for Country and manage private property
- Being a citizen scientist and conservation volunteer
- Loads more!
The class sessions have an expert facilitator, together with presentations from specialist guest presenters and local volunteer organisations.
Go on an in-depth exploration of your local creek and wildlife and learn how to act for nature.
