Proposed Community Vision Statement presented to Councillors and CEO

Energy was in the air as our Community Advisory Panel embarked on the final two days of their journey to shape the future of our city. Over several days of robust discussions and creative collaboration, the panel achieved some incredible milestones, showcasing the power of community-driven decision-making.
On Saturday 16 November, Panel members heard an inspiring keynote by futurist Simon Waller, who challenged the group to consider the drivers of change that could influence Moonee Valley in the lead-up to 2040. His insights laid the foundation for the Panel’s task that afternoon of creating their first drafts of a new Community Vision Statement.
On Saturday 23 November, the Panel gathered for their final day to review the drafts and suggest refinements to ensure every voice was represented. The room buzzed with dialogue and a shared determination to craft a vision that would inspire and unify.
The process culminated in a final voting round where the group collectively refined and endorsed a vision statement. The result? A powerful, community-inspired declaration of Moonee Valley’s aspirations for 2040. The Panel’s Community Vision Statement was presented to the CEO and our new Councillors, marking an important milestone for our community.
The enthusiasm, dedication, and collaboration demonstrated by the Community Advisory Panel underscore the incredible potential of working together to build a brighter future. Their work sets the stage for a Moonee Valley that truly reflects the hopes and dreams of its people. We thank everyone who was involved and gave up their Saturdays to help us progress this important work.
This Community Vision Statement will now be shared with the broader community for feedback. Keep an eye on our Your Say page for information about the consultation and where we will be popping up across the municipality to speak to you all!
