Our community centre has a variety of affordable programs and activities developed with the community, local groups and organisations. There are exercise, art, craft, dance, music and cooking options for people of all ages.

Volunteers

At Flemington Community Centre volunteers make a difference to our community through roles in the following programs:

  • Transurban DriveLink: providing newly arrived migrants and refugees with driving practice to build confidence for their driving test.
  • Creativity and Learning: facilitating arts, crafts and other rewarding and enjoyable activities.

From time to time, new volunteers are needed. When available, volunteering opportunities are advertised on our website. Visit our Volunteering page to see full information and to register your interest.

If you prefer, call and ask one of our friendly staff to send you information on any roles available.

Flemington Works

Flemington Works is a project connecting talented young people (15-30 years old) and women living on Flemington Housing Estate with employment opportunities, through direct recruitment, social procurement, work experience, micro-enterprise development and community-driven employment initiatives.

Young people and women living on Flemington Housing Estate are skilled, motivated and entrepreneurial. With high levels of cultural competence, young people and women are able to understand, communicate and interact with people across cultures, a key skill required by 21st century businesses.

You can take action by:

  1. Providing paid work
  2. Providing work experience, student placements or internships
  3. Buying from local suppliers in Moonee Valley

Get in touch with the Flemington Works team on 8325 1800 or email lkerr@mvcc.vic.gov.au.

Flemington Works is funded by Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions until June 2020.
