Djerring Flemington Hub is a heart for the community and provides a centre that brings users together from diverse and multi-generational backgrounds.
Welcome to the Djerring Flemington Hub
The Djerring Flemington Hub (the Hub) is a vibrant, welcoming and flexible centre, with activity and program rooms, family facilities, creative spaces, consulting rooms and sports change room and recreational facilities - as well as plenty of spaces to sit, meet friends and relax.
The Hub replaces Flemington Community Centre, a much-loved facility which served the local community for over 60 years. Due to deterioration of the original building, the Community Centre was demolished in 2021.

The largest space in the venue, with the ability to be split into multiple spaces. The Community Hall is designed to accommodate large, staged events, conferences and other activities requiring large indoor space. The space has an adjacent commercial grade kitchen that can service the hall directly.

Commercial kitchen

The commercial kitchen has been designed with the intention to provide employment and entrepreneurial support for residents of the Flemington Housing Estate.
A co-design process will identify the best business model for the kitchen and café. Options may include an employment transition program, entrepreneurial school, and/or traineeship program. The business model may also include the provision of catering for the centre and beyond, kitchen hire, and community food-based programs.
Any potential non-profit/social enterprise partners who may be interested in the lease of the kitchen are encouraged to participate in the forthcoming co-design process.

How to get into the hub
As part of Moonee Valley City Council’s MV2040 commitments to create 20-minute walking neighbourhoods and reduce our carbon footprint, we encourage users to travel to the Djerring Flemington Hub by public transport or other low-impact means.
Please note that parking is limited onsite to 60 spaces.
The Hub has excellent public transport access from Melbourne’s CBD. Flemington Bridge Station, a short walk from the Hub is 11 minutes by train from Flinders Street Station. Alternatively, the 59 tram delivers passengers from Flinders Street to the facility’s front door in 20 minutes.
Access to the Hub from elsewhere in Melbourne is well served by proximity to the Upfield rail line and tram services.
Flemington is well served by Melbourne’s bike trail and bike lane network. The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail connects to the Capital City Trail offers mostly traffic-free access from Melbourne CBD in 30 minutes. A more direct route via Flemington Road on well-marked bike lanes can take as little as 19 minutes. Bike trails are also suitable for walking and close to public transport options.
The Hub is a 20 minute drive from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (30 minutes without toll road access) and 50 minutes from Avalon Airport.
Airport Skybus passengers can connect directly to the Upfield line at Southern Cross railway station for a 10-minute ride to Flemington Bridge Station, a short walk from the Hub.
