Carols in Queens Park 2025

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with a free evening of carols, children’s activities and holiday cheer in Queens Park.

Gather your family and friends, pack a picnic and experience the magic of the festive season with some of your favourite carols!

Candles, food and refreshments will all be available for purchase. We also recommend bringing a picnic blanket to relax on and enjoy the beautiful evening.

Bobby Fox

Bobby Fox

Bobby Fox is an Irish born Australian actor who originated the role of Franki Valli in the Australian production of Jersey Boys which he performed over 850 times. Bobby has also had lead roles in Guys and Dolls, Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia!, Leader of the Pack, Dusty – The Original Pop Diva, We Will Rock You, Spamalot and The Production Company’s Oklahoma, Sweet Charity and Damn Yankees. In 2016 and 2017 he appeared in Ladies in Black which toured nationally and for which he received a Green Room Award nomination. Fox is also a regular guest on Channel 9’s Carols by Candlelight.

Whistle and Trick

Whistle & Trick are always ready to sing, dance, and stir up a little mischief! Creating original music for children aged 2–8, they blend playful storytelling, catchy tunes, and quirky characters to spark joy, imagination, and lots of giggles.

Their debut album, Bananas and Other Delicious Things, was nominated for the 2023 ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album, alongside iconic acts like The Wiggles, Playschool, Peter Combe, and Emma Memma.

Annie Jones

Annie Jones

Annie Jones is one of Australia’s most exciting young vocal talents. She first captured international attention as a quarter-finalist on America’s Got Talent, placing among the top forty contestants of her season. In 2024, Annie became a Grand Finalist on The Voice Australia, mentored by Adam Lambert, where her rocky edge and unique artistry wowed both coaches and audiences. Annie has continued to shine in major live performances, including a standout appearance at the Australian Open Women’s Grand Final at Rod Laver Arena.

Moonee Valley Brass Band

Moonee Valley Brass is a vibrant community brass band based in Melbourne’s inner north-west. Proudly serving the City of Moonee Valley and surrounding areas, the band brings together musicians of all ages and backgrounds who share a passion for performing and making music. Founded in 1890, Moonee Valley Brass has a long and distinguished history of community involvement, performing at civic events, concerts, parades, and ceremonies for more than 130 years.

What you need to know

Please note that photos and video recordings will be taken at this event.

Children’s activities will operate 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
The Carols performance will begin at 6.30pm.

Carols in Queens Park 2025 will feature:

  • Bobby Fox
  • Annie Jones
  • Whistle and Trick.

The performances will also include 3 local school choirs and a community choir led by The Moonee Valley Brass Band.

Parking is available in the surrounding streets but is limited. We encourage people to walk or catch public transport where possible.

  • Train - Just a 5-minute walk from Moonee Ponds Train Station.
  • Tram - The nearest tram stop is Stop 32 (Kellaway Avenue/Mt Alexander Rd) on the route 59 tram.
  • Bus - Routes 404, 469, 472, 476, 477, 483, 504, 505, 506 all stop near Queens Park.
  • Parking - There is parking along Mt Alexander Rd, The Strand and nearby side streets. Please check parking signs for time limits.

Bring your own water bottle and refill at our Hydration Station. A bubbler is also available in the park.

Toilets and accessible toilets will be in 2 different locations within the event precinct.

Queens Park is an on-lead area, and we anticipate the event will be very busy, with lots of children in attendance. We recommend you leave your pets at home.

Santa will be making a quick stop to say hello and sing along with us all! There will be no meet and greet, or photo with Santa opportunities.

We will have a range of food and drink options onsite, but you are also welcome to bring a picnic.

Please ensure you dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.

Please note that this is a family-friendly event and we encourage responsible drinking in non-breakable cups. Please avoid bringing glass bottles.

 Seating

Get comfy and unwind at Carols by bringing along a picnic blanket, low chairs, and pillows. If you're planning on bringing along higher camp chairs, please be considerate of your fellow audience members and erect your chair at rear sections or away from others’ viewing sightlines.  

Money and card payment options

If you're keen to grab a tasty treat from our vendors, or purchase a candle to light on the evening, please ensure you bring along cash or card options with you on the day. Please note, ATMs are not available on site.

We aim for our events to be as accessible as possible. This event is wheelchair accessible and accessible toilets will be provided. An accessible drop off zone will be available at the Civic Centre carpark (Kellaway Avenue).

An Auslan interpreter will be attending on the evening, standing on the main stage during performances.

We expect the event to proceed in the event of light showers. If heavy rain, storms or other extreme weather occurs the event may be cancelled for patron safety. Please refer to our social media channels for weather related updates.

Lost children

ID wrist bands will be available at the Information Tent for parents to write their name and phone number and attach to the child. A Lost Children Point will be set up next to the Information Tent on the corner of Mt Alexander Road and Kellaway Avenue. If you lose your child at the event, please contact event staff who will be identifiable in high-vis vests or black event t-shirts.

Lost property

Please contact staff at the Information Tent on the day, or at the Civic Centre Customer Service counter after the event.

Printed songbooks are no longer sold at Carols in Queens Park. The program can be viewed on the Council website the week of the performance.
