Register to reunite with your pet

Are you a proud pet parent? Discover the perks of registering your furry friend!
Whether you’re a dog or cat lover, it’s hard to quantify just how much our pets means to us and our families. It goes without saying, we’d do pretty much anything for our furry friends.
That includes giving them lots of cuddles, spoiling them with treats, and giving them security in our city.
Registering your pet is cheaper than you might think, and comes with a range of perks.
Save thousands at the pound
Most of us pet owners have had the terrible fear of your four-legged friend running away, and never reuniting with them.
Did you know, that if your pet is registered with Council, and they were to wander off and find themselves at the Lost Dogs Home, you’d be reunited with your pet free of charge. Unlike microchipping alone, where you would need to pay impound fees - despite your animal being chipped. This would save you thousands in impound fees.
Increases chances of reuniting
If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know that feeling of dread. That anxiety of never seeing their adorable face again is too much to bear. Registering your pet with Council increases your chances of reuniting with your cat or dog if they ever go astray.
How? Registering your animal will put them on Council’s official registry, which can be accessed by CX and City Compliance. This surpasses the Animal Registry microchipping database and creates a higher chance of reuniting with your beloved animal.
Fees fund services for your pet
Unlike microchipping, where the costs gets pocketed by the vet, when you register with Council, they go back to animals around our city!
All money from registrations goes back into things like:
- dog parks, including off leash parks and fenced dog parks
- dog waste bags and bins
- community discounted microchip and desexing days
- discount incentive schemes for new registrations
- And so much more!
