Remembrance Day 2024 Commemoration Ceremony

Remembrance Day is a time for us to recognise those who served our country, and to pay our respects to fallen and returned soldiers.

Moonee Valley City Council, in conjunction with Essendon RSL Sub-branch, will hold a commemoration ceremony at the Cenotaph in Queens Park, Moonee Ponds on Monday, 11 November 11 from 10.40am.

Taking part in the ceremony will be local members of parliament, representatives from various battalions and squadrons, as well as the Moonee Valley Brass Band. 

Residents are encouraged to attend and pay their respects and are invited to lay flowers or wreaths at the Cenotaph. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be available in Council chambers at the Civic Centre on Kellaway Avenue, opposite Queens Park.

Remembrance Day services in Moonee Valley 2024

Moonee Valley City Council will hold a commemoration ceremony at the Cenotaph in Queens Park, Moonee Ponds on Monday, 11 November 11 from 10.40am.

Flemington/Kensington RSL will be hosting a small ceremony at the Kensington cenotaph (opposite Newmarket Woolworths) commencing at 10:45am. The sub-branch will be open post ceremony for nibbles and refreshments. Please refer to FlemKen RSL's website for more information.
