Summer in the Valley is back for 2023

The Summer in the Valley festivities are returning for 2023! Bring on the good vibes, warm weather and local merriments as we welcome another summer of memorable moments in our community.

Whether you consider yourself a bit of a foodie, muso, or art enthusiast, there's something for the whole family to get involved in with these fantastic free events across our community!

Summer in the Valley is part of Moonee Valley’s Live and Local program, thanks to Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative.

Family Fun at Centreway

Watch Keilor East transform into a feast of entertainment on Saturday 11 February for Family Fun at Centreway, with free and interactive performances. There will be arty activities, delicious food samples, and feel-good tunes from local musicians. It’s a great opportunity to mingle with your neighbours and bask in the talent and skills of your local merchants and artists. Bring your whole family along for an unforgettable summer afternoon and evening.

Twilight Concert at Lincoln Park

Grab your picnic blanket, gather some snacks to graze on, and join us at everyone's favourite Twilight Concert at Lincoln Park! Enjoy the buzzing atmosphere with an afternoon and evening of free live music, and entertainment including Box Wars, roving entertainers, face painting, a circus playspace and a pop-up library. The event will feature a range of vibrant local musicians to jam to.  Kick back, relax and immerse yourself in the glorious weather.

Twilight Concert FAQs

The Twilight Concert will be held at Lincoln Park, Essendon on Saturday 4 March from 4pm – 9pm.

Yes, this event is free.

This event is for the whole family to enjoy and dogs are welcome, however please be aware that there will be music, lighting and crowds. Please ensure that your dog is on leash and that you have brought adequate provisions to feed, water and clean up after them.

First Aid is available on site throughout the course of the event.

A Lost Children Point will be set up in the Information tent. If you lose your child please contact Event staff at Information Tent or moving around the site. Staff will be identifiable in high-vis vests.

No, there no ATMs available. The majority of vendors will have methods of cashless payments available, however we recommend bringing cash for food and drink purchases just in case.

A ‘lost property’ point will be located at Council’s information tent.

Toilets and accessible toilets will be located onsite at Lincoln Park.

We aim to make all festival events fun and accessible for everyone.

Accessible bathrooms will be available at all festival events.

The concert will be attended by Auslan Interpreters, with a designated space available near the front of the stage for viewing. Please note that the park is sloped and the viewing area is grassed. If you require assistance please speak with staff when you arrive.

As this is an outdoor event please be aware of the weather and bring sun protection or wet weather gear. Food and beverage options will be limited so people are encouraged to bring a picnic.

While water will be available on site for purchase, we ask our festival attendees to be mindful of the environment and bring their own water bottle that can be filled at the events hydration station.

Finally, as this is an outdoor concert, you are welcome to bring your own picnic rugs and cushions. Low beach chairs are also fine. If you do need a chair with legs, please ensure you are not obstructing anyone’s view.

A cancellation procedure will be in effect in the event of adverse weather conditions. Announcements regarding any event cancellations will be made in advance of the event’s commencement on What’s on Moonee Valley - Events, Attractions and more (whatsonmooneevalley.com.au) and Council’s Facebook and Instagram social media channels.

Food and Drink

There will be a small range of food available at the event and while effort has been made to ensure a range of healthy and allergen free food, those with specific requirements may wish to bring their own food.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own food, please note that picnic facilities are not available at the event site. If bringing your own food, ensure you pack a picnic basket.

Alcohol is permitted, but there is no alcohol for sale at the Twilight Concert.
