Top 3 tips for writing a stand-out grant application

Community Grants Writing Workshop In Person

The Biannual Community Grants Program is now open for applications, with funding available to support initiatives that make Moonee Valley an even better place to live, work and play.

To help you with your applications, we asked the Moonee Valley grants team to share their top three tips for grant writing success.

1. Know your project

Can you succinctly describe what your project is all about? Think: who, what, when, where and why.

2. Get your finances in order

An organised project budget is key to grant application success. It gives the grant committee confidence that the funding being sought is both appropriate and necessary. All you need to do is provide simple descriptions of your project expenses as well as matching quotes for those expenses.

3. Document it!

No one likes paperwork but making sure you provide all the relevant documentation is an important part of an eligible grant application. Remember to attach your insurance documents, profit and loss statements, letters of support, permits or other required documentation to ensure your application can be assessed.
