Have your say on the Union Traffic Management Plan
Stage Two of the Union Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Study is now open for community feedback.
Each year, Council undertakes LATM studies to guide future traffic and transport planning across the municipality. These studies aim to improve road safety, accessibility and local traffic conditions by responding to the unique needs of individual neighbourhoods.
The Union Road precinct LATM is now due for review. The precinct covers the area bounded by Maribyrnong Road, Epsom Road and Ascot Vale Road and includes a mix of residential streets, local shopping areas and key transport routes.
Stage One of the study focused on identifying traffic, parking and road safety issues within the precinct. Traffic and safety data was analysed alongside feedback from the community, giving residents, businesses and road users the opportunity to raise concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.
Based on the findings from Stage One, Council has now developed a draft Traffic Management Plan.
The draft plan outlines key issues already identified and proposes a range of potential actions.
Stage Two provides the community with an opportunity to review the draft plan and share feedback. This input will help refine the proposed actions before the final plan is presented to Council for consideration and endorsement.
