Centreway Greening Project

Council is planning to green the Centreway precinct, through a series of garden beds, to help create an attractive and sustainable streetscape for one of the main business and community hubs of the Keilor East neighbourhood.

The project will focus planting four pedestrian crossing points on Centreway that connect FJ Davies Reserve to the shopping strip by converting paving areas into garden beds. Planting palette will consist of a combination of trees and understorey plants and a mix of native and exotic species that are hardy and suitable for street plating. It will include species indigenous to Keilor Plains such as Everlastings, Billy Buttons and Matt Rush. Two new bench seats are also proposed to complement the new garden beds.

The project is currently in design phase – view the Centreway Greening Project Concept Plan. Construction is anticipated in early 2023.

FJ Davies Reserve Shelter/Stage Project

With support from the Victorian State Government 2021-22 Covid-Safe Outdoor Activation Fund, Council is also planning to replace the existing rotunda in FJ Davies Reserve with a new shelter/stage which will help local community and businesses to operate in outdoor settings, in a Covid-safe manner.

Construction for the new shelter/stage is scheduled to commence in spring 2022 and complete in early 2023. Please be advised during this time, access to part of FJ Davies Reserve may be interrupted.
