Vale Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Moonee Valley City Council today is sad to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We offer our condolences to King Charles III and members of the Royal Family.
Mayor Samantha Byrne said Her Majesty was a woman who we could all admire due to her dedication to service, her unwavering work ethic, her engagement and enthusiasm for the Commonwealth and her leadership over a time of enormous change in our world.
For most people in Moonee Valley she is the only monarch we have known. She will be missed. Pictured is the Queen and Prince Phillip being greeted by General Sir Reginald Alexander Dallas Brooks, Governor of Victoria outside Essendon Town hall which is now The Clocktower Centre in 1954.
Today we are showing our respect and gratitude for her life and remembering her constance, dignity, faith and reign. If you would like to offer your sympathy we have set up a condolence book at the Civic Centre. All residents are welcome to come in to sign the book.
Thank you Queen Elizabeth. Rest in peace
