Want to help Moonee Valley receive national recognition for its leadership in sustainability? It’s as easy as One, Two, Tree!

Moonee Valley City Council has been announced as a finalist in the 2025 National Banksia Foundation Sustainability Awards for our groundbreaking One, Two, Tree campaign.

As a finalist in the Marketing and Communications for Impact category, we’re also eligible for the Banksia People’s Choice Award and your vote could secure us the win!

The One, Two, Tree campaign responds to need for better tree canopy cover in western Melbourne by encouraging our community to plant trees in their own backyards (or front yards!)

Moonee Valley brought together nine local councils from Melbourne’s west as part of the campaign, creating a suite of resources that educates residents on the ideal types trees to plant and how to go about planting them.

After all, more trees mean cooler, healthier and more liveable neighbourhoods for all!

You can watch the full suite of campaign videos on the MVCC website. More than 250,000 people have seen the One, Two, Tree campaign so far!

To vote for Moonee Valley in the People’s Choice category, you can visit the Banksia Foundation website. And be quick! Voting is only open for a short time.

One, Two, Tree was funded by the Victorian Government’s Metropolitan Partnerships Development Fund.
