Budget 25/26 – what’s in it for you?
Councillors voted to adopt the Budget for the 2025/26 financial year. Focuses of this year’s Budget include road renewal, city infrastructure, early years education and sustainability. Significant investments include $45.8 million for capital works and $215.8 million to deliver essential community programs and support.
The council endorsement follows a four-week community consultation process, during which time Council received 46 submissions that the adopted Budget took into consideration.
Also approved was the 2025-29 Revenue and Rating Plan, which lays out how Council will raise the necessary funds to fulfil its Council Plan, programs and services commitments and capital works.

Council crowns kinder contractors
A new-look Coronation Kindergarten and maternal child health building in Ascot Vale took another step towards construction, with council naming builders McColl Smith to complete the project.
