Nominations are now open for the 2024 Moonee Valley Neighbourhood Spirit Awards.

Do you know someone who makes a positive difference in your neighbourhood? Someone who is always going that extra yard to help a neighbour, a charity, a sports club? Someone who just makes Moonee Valley a better place to be?

Then it’s time to celebrate them! Nominate them today for the 2024 Neighbourhood Spirit Awards.

It will be a year of celebration for these much-loved community awards too, with 2024 marking our 25th year of shout-outs to the givers and doers in our community.

The Neighbourhood Spirit Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of everyday people in the community, whose service and contributions have made a significant impact in Moonee Valley.

Deputy Mayor of Moonee Valley, Cr Narelle Sharpe, said the Neighbourhood Spirit Awards recognised the important contributions, big or small, of people in the local community.

“The Neighbourhood Spirit Awards are an annual highlight of the Council calendar,” Cr Sharpe said. “They are an opportunity to reflect on the value of those in our community whose work often goes unnoticed.

“We encourage you to nominate those who make Moonee Valley a great place to live, work or study for the 2024 Neighbourhood Spirit Awards.”

“It could be your friend, neighbour, colleague, teacher, carer or even a local business owner.”

Nominations can be completed online at mvcc.vic.gov.au/spirit or by completing a hand-written form, available at Council’s Civic Centre, libraries and community centres.

Eligible nominees must live, work or study in Moonee Valley and be at least 16 years of age when nominations close on Friday, 1 December 2023.

The 2024 Neighbourhood Spirit Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, 23 March 2024 at the Mediterranean Fiesta in Centreway, Keilor East.
