What you need to know
Parklets are one way that Council is supporting our local businesses and community to thrive together, through innovative use of the road reserve and expanded Footpath Trading guidelines.
What is a parklet?
Parklets are car park spaces transformed into safe places to meet, eat and relax, usually outside hospitality businesses who pay a fee to expand their trading space.
Council supports traders and stakeholders to work together to share public spaces where practicable to achieve equitable outcomes.
We are currently undertaking a review of parklets in the municipality. As such, we will not be accepting new applications for parklets at this time.
If you have any queries, please email business@mvcc.vic.gov.au
Opportunities for traders
Although the Parklet Program is currently not accepting applications, there are other ways to make the most of your trading space. Visit the Footpath trading page or contact 9243 8866 to learn how Council can help you.
