Two new electric vehicle charging stations have arrived in Ascot Vale!

Moonee Valley City Council is proud to be working with Evie Network to install two new electric vehicle charging spots in Ascot Vale!

Electric vehicles have fast become popular in many cities around the world as communities transition to lower carbon lifestyles.

 

Where will the electric vehicle charging spots be located?

Our two new electric vehicle charging spaces have been installed at 66-68 The Parade, Ascot Vale, next door to the Union Road shopping precinct.

What kind of chargers have been installed?

2 x 50kW Tritium RTM Fast Chargers, these are installed and operated by Evie Networks

How long will my car take to charge?

Depending on your vehicle, it will take between 20-60 minutes for 250-500km range per hour.

Will it cost to charge my electric vehicle?

Yes, and pricing will be dependent on Evie Networks who operate the charging station. You can pay by downloading the Evie app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Why was this location selected?

66-68 The Parade, Ascot Vale was selected because it is so close the Union Road shopping precinct and Ascot Vale activity center. Proximity to amenities means users of the electric vehicle charging station can visit shops while they wait for charging to complete.

The location is also accessible 24/7 with adequate lighting and amenities available.

Why is Moonee Valley installing electric vehicle charging?

One of Moonee Valley’s priorities in becoming a low carbon city is to facilitate the transition into emission free vehicles. By installing electric vehicle charging stations, Moonee Valley is supporting EV owners to travel in their community without range anxiety. Our aim is both to encourage EV owners to visit Moonee Valley and also encourage residents of Moonee Valley to consider EV’s as a viable option for their next vehicle.

Yes, the chargers are powered by 100% renewable energy.
