Work experience

We can only accommodate work experience opportunities for Year 10 students and those enrolled in tertiary education who require a student placement as a part of the course completion.

All work experience placements must be sponsored by an institution that is able to cover personal accident and public liability insurance.

Once you have completed your placement request, we will get back to you within 1-5 business days.

    • City of Moonee Valley currently has limited programs that can offer opportunities for Work Experience and Tertiary Student Placements. We recommend that secondary students visit Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley Local Learning and Employment Network (MMVLLEN) on School to Work Home as they have other organisations who advertise secondary work experience opportunities on this website.

Women in leadership

Council has approximately 53% women in our top four levels of management. We have 30% representation of women in Senior Officer positions. We have a woman CEO and are committed to increasing the representation of women in Senior Officer roles.

Moonee Valley City Council employee satisfaction

We regularly conduct employee 'pulse' surveys to track employee experience working at Council. Recent results show that Moonee Valley City Council continues to track above the national Local Government benchmark. The Employee Net Promoter Score, which measures employee willingness to recommend MVCC as a workplace, is currently at +11. This is above the Local Government Benchmark of +3 and shows that our employees are more likely to recommend Moonee Valley City Council as a great place to work than employees from similar Councils.
