What you need to know
In early 2025, Moonee Valley City Council will deliver a new wave of initiatives supporting our live music scene. The council will focus on 3 key areas of opportunity as part of our Live and Local program:
- a Live Music industry forum to engage community consultation
- Valley Sounds, micro music festival
- professional development workshops for artists and musicians.
Live Music Industry Forum and Community Consultation
Would you like to be a part of a conversation that uncovers what a thriving live music scene looks like for Moonee Valley? We’re interested in hearing the views of local residents, business owners, artists and musicians.
The forum is scheduled to run from 6pm to 9pm on 27 February 2025 at the Clocktower Centre and will include an in-depth discussion of the current challenges facing live music in the municipality, how to make live music spaces accessible and profitable, and what a flourishing music scene might look like in Moonee Valley.
If you would like to share your views and have your voice heard, please come along and join our Live Music Industry Forum with representatives from Live Music Office, Music Victoria and Moonee Valley City Council and help us uncover the path to a vibrant local live music scene. All are welcome: whether you’re a musician, producer, business owner, or just a resident who loves a live show!
Please note registration is free but RSVPs are essential for catering purposes. Email liveandlocal@mvcc.vic.gov.au to let us know if you'd like to come along.
Live and Local is presented by Moonee Valley City Council in partnership with the Live Music Office, OneMusic Australia and APRA AMCOS. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its arts funding and advisory body.
The project is an action of the Arts and Culture Strategy, Igniting Creativity in Moonee Valley 23-27.
