Code of Conduct – Attendee Expectations

All events are fully supervised by Valley Youth staff, however staff are unable to prevent people from leaving the event and are not responsible for them once they leave the activity space.

Valley Youth expects high standards of behaviour from all attendees, staff and volunteers to create a safe and inclusive environment, free from discrimination, sexism, bullying, harassment, verbal or physical abuse, or any other antisocial behaviours.

All Valley Youth events are strictly drug, alcohol, smoke and vape-free. These items are not permitted at any event. Attendees must not attend events in an intoxicated state or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If a person arrives intoxicated or with prohibited items, they will be asked to leave the event immediately. We will follow up with a conversation involving the person and their parent/guardian (if under 18) to discuss their suitability for future participation.

As an attendee at a Valley Youth event, you are responsible for ensuring your behaviour does not make others feel unsafe or compromise the safety of those around you. While Valley Youth will always do its best to manage challenging situations, serious misbehaviour may result in removal from the event. In such cases, your parent/guardian (if under 18) will be notified, and arrangements will be made for you to be transported home at their expense.

Attendees are expected to treat equipment respectfully and keep event spaces clean and tidy.
