Moonee Valley City Council 2023/24 rates notices
A message from the Mayor, Cr Pierce Tyson

We know that our parks, libraries, playgrounds, kindergartens, sporting facilities, and community centres are at the heart of our city. That’s why in our 2023/24 Budget we have committed to making the required investment for generations to come.

Your Council rates are at work every day, allowing our city to keep moving. Every dollar of rates is re-invested into critical services, from child & aged care, to our roads and rubbish.

Whether it’s enhancing our streetscapes, maintaining, upgrading, or replacing ageing infrastructure, or expanding our climate action initiatives – we are all working together to deliver the projects most important to our community.

Highlights from the 2023/24 Budget include:

  • $5.13 million to upgrade the Ascot Vale Library
  • $3.1 million to Clifton Park Pavilion rebuild
  • $2.2 million to roll out the Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) bin program
  • $1.94 million to improvements of Keilor Road streetscape.

Our community play a critical role in deciding how we direct our funding. A huge thank you to everyone who gave their feedback on the draft budget during the consultation period earlier this year.

We understand that cost of living pressures are impacting many households. Support is available for residents who are doing it tough, or just want to manage their home budget to smooth out their expenses. To access these options, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I am looking forward to seeing the projects in the 2023/24 Budget come to life over the next year, as we work together to build a healthy city that is a great place to live, work and play.
