Geographic naming proposal naming of a laneway in Flemington
Moonee Valley City Council (Council) is proposing to name the full length of a laneway that runs between 1 Wellington Street and 274-276 Racecourse Road, Flemington.
To ensure public safety, it is recommended the laneway be named to allow for an accurate street address to be assigned to a proposed new dwelling in this location. Naming of the laneway will also assist delivery and emergency services to locate any other properties that have their main entry point from this laneway.
Members of the public can provide feedback on the proposed names, make an objection or suggest an alternative name by one of the following methods:
- phone 03 9243 8888 (request to speak to the Senior Governance Advisor)
- mail PO Box 126 Moonee Ponds, Vic 3039
- email council@mvcc.vic.gov.au
- website https://yoursay.mvcc.vic.gov.au/unnamed-laneway-flemington

All submissions must comply with Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2022.
All submissions must be received within 30 days of this notice or by 2 March 2025.
Council has been unable to locate existing family members to seek permission to use the proposed name and calls for consent from the family or requests family contact details from the community.
