What you need to know

Bin collection at your home

How to do the right thing with your waste.

Bin wasn't collected?

If your bin hasn’t been emptied you can lodge a request online.

Bin issues

Lodge an online request for the following issues:

  • order new bins
  • bin service cancellation
  • collection of abandoned/extra bin
  • damaged/stolen/missing bin
  • missed collection/collection spillage

Demolition

All demolition properties need to surrender all of the household bins including general rubbish, recycling and FOGO bin.

*Please select all three bin options while lodging this request

How to correctly put your bin out for kerbside collection:

  • Put your bin out the night before it's due for collection.
  • Place your bins next to the kerb, handles towards the house.
  • Make sure your bins are 30cm apart and 1m away from parked vehicles.
  • Put your recyclables loose. NO PLASTIC BAGS. Recyclables in plastic bags can’t be sorted and will end up in landfill. Don’t let your hard work go to waste!
  • Your bin lid must be closed fully and your bin should be no heavier than 70kg.
  • Collections start from 6am (5.30am on main roads, for example: Mount Alexander Road, Keilor Road, Buckley Street, Maribyrnong Road).
