What’s on during Cultural Diversity Week?

Cultural Diversity Week (19 – 17 March) invites us to reconnect, share and express ourselves through this year’s theme; ‘Connecting Through Culture’.
Moonee Valley is home to people from all corners of the world. It’s multiculturalism that creates the flavours, colours and sounds that makes our neighbourhood unique and special.
It’s also a time for reflection as we look at how far we’ve come as a nation and recognise we still have work to do to support our multicultural communities and to eliminate racism.
There are a few things happening around Council during Cultural Diversity Week, take a look and celebrate with us:
Flemington Pop-up is here!
To deliver services to the community just as our beloved Flemington Community Centre did for 60 years, we’re proud to announce that the Flemington Pop-up is open for business!
Here our Welcoming Neighbourhoods team – from the Flemington Community Centre – work on-site ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.
They can provide information and referral, as well as offer employment support through JVES and Job Advocate. Community members can visit the Pop-up to ask questions, receive information or get recommendations to other local services and activities.
The Pop-up is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. It’s located onsite behind where the old centre was in Debneys Park, just look for the signs!
The redevelopment of the new Flemington Hub and Debneys Park precinct is well underway and expected to be completed in 2023.
