Indented parking design:
New indented parking and path upgrades are planned for Afton and Ramsay Streets in Aberfeldie, including a children’s including crossing in Ramsay Street. The indented parking and path upgrades are actions of the Clifton Park master plan.
Master Plan Update:
The rollout of the Clifton Park Master Plan is proposed in multiple stages, which includes construction of a new multipurpose pavilion, a cricket net upgrade, car parks and walking paths, a new play space, park furniture, and landscaping.
All projects are subject to Council’s annual budgeting process.
Stage 1: Pavilion Upgrade and Cricket Net Relocation
The Clifton Park Pavilion Upgrade and Cricket Net Relocation works are earmarked to commence mid-to-late 2023. The new multipurpose pavilion will accommodate the needs of Aberfeldie Sports Club (football and cricket), while also providing multipurpose use opportunities for other community groups at times when the pavilion is not being used by the club. The pavilion design incorporates key actions from the master plan including new public toilets, additional undercover spectator areas for the oval and the undergrounding of the large oval irrigation tank.
The cricket nets require relocation due to the increased footprint of the new pavilion, and the number of cricket training lanes needs to be reduced to four lanes (from five) to minimise the loss of open space and impact on vegetation, while still meeting the club’s needs. Five trees are anticipated to be removed to accommodate for the works, and 25 new trees will be planted to enhance the open space within the park.
